STONE AGE LIKELY TO CONTINUE: SCOTTSDALE -- According to today's Chicago Tribune, Steve Stone is going to remain the Cubs color analyst on television. It would not have been a smart move to dump the most popular member of the organization after he told the truth about the whiny, choking 2004 Cubs. Steve Stone telling the truth about this bunch of complainers was not the problem this past season; it was the whiners on the Cubs.

CUBS WAIVE WAVING WENDELL AT WAVELAND: The Chicago Cubs have decided to not bring back third base coach Wendell Kim. For two years Cubs fans have had to endure Wendell's terrible decisions to send runners home when everyone but Wendell could tell they would get thrown out at home plate. This was a move that had to be made.

2004 PLAYOFF PREDICTIONS: I did ok with my LDS predictions getting three correct and one wrong. I got both ALDS series right and was correct in picking St. Louis to beat Los Angeles but wrong on picking Atlanta over Houston. The ALCS begins tonight with Boston at the New York Yankees, the NLCS tomorrow night. Which means it is time for some more predictions.

ALCS: Boston Red Sox over New York Yankees
NLCS: St. Louis Cardinals over Houston Astros
WORLD SERIES: St. Louis Cardinals over Boston Red Sox
