2004 PLAYOFF PREDICTIONS: The 2004 playoffs begin today. That means it is time for some more (likely inaccurate) predictions.

ALDS: New York Yankees over Minnesota Twins; Boston Red Sox over Anaheim Angels
ALCS: Boston Red Sox over New York Yankees
NLDS: St. Louis Cardinals over Los Angeles Dodgers; Atlanta Braves over Houston Astros
NLCS: St. Louis Cardinals over Atlanta Braves
WORLD SERIES: St. Louis Cardinals over Boston Red Sox

CUBS FOLD IN '04: So the regular season has ended and the Cubs folded down the stretch. Blowing the wild card lead and allowed the Houston Astros to get into the playoffs. I am disappointed in the Cubs team for blowing it but more than anything I am mad at the team for their behavior this season by making us put up with all of their garbage whining about Chip Caray and Steve Stone being "too negative" and bizarre complaints of a conspiracy by the umpires against Moises Alou and LaTroy Hawkins. We were put on an emotion rollercoaster by the biggest bunch of whiners, moaners, and complainers in Cubs history. Whiners who look for excuses as to why they lost instead of themselves are losers and we can do without them in 2005 and beyond.

CHIPMUNK IS LEAVING: Chip Caray is leaving the Cubs broadcast booth to re-join the Atlanta Braves broadcast booth. Chip struggled when paired with the awful Joe Carter and ok but not great Dave Otto. Chip came back and did a very good job these last two seasons when he was paired again with Steve Stone. They worked well together and their on-air bantering will be missed.

THE STONE AGE BETTER CONTINUE: If the Cubs decide to not bring back Steve Stone in 2005 because of his on the mark analysis and commentary is not liked by some of whiners in the Cubs organization they will be insulting Cubs fans and making themselves look like thin skinned weasels. Some may say the Cubs do not need the distraction of having Steve Stone back in 2005. The only reason Stone is considered a distraction to some is a bunch of whiny, losers worry about what is being said on the broadcasts. The players should worry about playing the game and not complaining about the broadcasters telling the truth. That goes for Cubs management as well. I cannot believe Cubs management of Andy MacPhail, Jim Hendry, and Dusty Baker had a meeting with Stone on Friday to air their complaints to him about his criticisms of this whiny, selfish, choker of a team. Cubs fans are not stupid, they are not going to put up with two yo-yos telling us everything is great on this team when it obviously is not.
