SATURDAY'S GAME AT SAN DIEGO: Good performance last night as Moises Alou, Sammy Sosa, and Aramis Ramirez hit home runs in the Cubs 7-5 victory over the Padres. BAD FACT CHECKING REPORT: In today's Chicago Tribune, Paul Sullivan reports on the Cubs shortstop situation, They drafted Willie Montanez with the No. 3 pick of the 2000 draft, but Montanez never developed into a proficient fielder or hitter. Actually the Cubs drafted Luis Montanez. Willie Montanez played in the major leagues first in 1966 then from 1970 until 1982. |
