HE'S BAAAAAACK: Greg Maddux returns to the Chicago Cubs by signing a two-year contract with an option for 2006 if Maddux throws 400 innings over the 2004 and 2005 seasons. The best news we have had in a long time. I wrote back on December 20, 2003, I hoped we got Maddux back and we did.

AP REPORTS MADDUX SIGNING WITH CUBS: The Associated Press is reporting tonight Greg Maddux has agreed to a three-year, $24 million contract with the Chicago Cubs.

 
ATLANTA JOURNAL-CONSTITUTION REPORTS MADDUX SIGNING WITH CUBS: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution is reporting tonight Greg Maddux will return to the Chicago Cubs and be in Mesa, Arizona tomorrow. Great news!

CUBS RAISE OFFER TO MADDUX; GIANTS REPORTED OUT: The Chicago Sun-Times reports today the Chicago Cubs have raised the team's offer to Greg Maddux to between $14-$15 million over two years.

Meanwhile, the Contra Costa Times reports the San Francisco Giants are out of the running for Greg Maddux.

It looks like Greg Maddux is coming back to the Cubs. Great news!
