MARIOTTI ON SANTO: I often criticize Jay Mariotti on the blog but not today. Mariotti wrote a great column on Ron Santo in today's Chicago Sun-Times. Mariotti wrote about what an inspiration Santo is, how Santo deserves to be in the Hall of Fame, and how Santo captures the spirit of the Cubs. A great column by Mariotti which should not be missed.

SAMMY'S DOMINICAN DANCE PARTY: Sammy Sosa had a party at his home in the Dominican Republic. Sammy says he has told Dusty Baker he is going to come late to spring training again and will continue to blare his salsa music in the clubhouse. This is not what I was hoping to hear. Baker should have put an end to this nonsense when he took over. Even though Baker did not, Sosa should get a Sony Walkman and listen to his salsa music with headphones on his ears as a courtesy to his teammates who would like it quiet in the clubhouse.
