OH THOSE REAL BASEBALL FANS: The next time some White Sox fan starts telling you how real baseball fans go to Comiskey Park and Wrigley Field is filled with drunks remind him of these two jerks. White Sox fans. Bad Guys Wear No Shirt. THURSDAY'S GAME AT NEW YORK: Matt Clement pitched outstanding again on Thursday. Clement pitched seven innings and gave up only one earned run. But this being the Cubs, they cost Clement the victory again. Bobby Hill had a solo home run to go with an earlier run that gave the Cubs a 2-1 going into the bottom of the ninth. Antonio Alfonseca blew the game in the bottom of the ninth allowing the Mets to tie it up 2-2. The Cubs had a great chance to score in the top of the 12th but did not and then the Mets scored in the bottom of the 12th to win it 3-2 and a three game sweep over the Cubs. Corey Patterson was just awful striking out five times and having a bunt be a foul pop out to go zero for six for the evening. Yuck! MEL ROJAS AWARD: The Mel Rojas Award for worst performance by a Cubs relief pitcher in Thursday's night game goes to Antonio Alfonseca who blew the save by giving up a run. |
