FRIDAY'S GAME VS. PITTSBURGH: Mark Prior came back on Friday and looked as good as ever. Pitching six innings, striking out eight, no runs, and gave up only two hits. The offense continued to be mediocre, scoring one run. Joe Borowski was once again ineffective, giving up the tying run then got yanked and was responsible for the go-ahead run to cost us the game. The Cubs have to give LaTroy Hawkins the ball in the closer's role for change.
MEL ROJAS AWARD: The Mel Rojas Award for bad relief pitching by a Cubs relief pitcher to Joe Borowski. Borowski came into the game in the top of the ninth with the Cubs up 1-0. Borowski pitched 2/3 of a inning, blew the save by giving up two earned runs on two hits to get the loss. It could have been even worse if not for a great catch by Moises Alou off the bat of Jason Kendall to start the ninth.

SORRY: Sorry I have been away for a few weeks
PRIOR RETURNS TODAY: Mark Prior returns today after being out all season. The Cubs have held up ok with Prior, Wood, Sosa, etc. out for awhile now. Overall I am not real worried because we will be getting the others back as well. I am not worried about Cincinnati over the long haul. Houston and St. Louis are the teams we have to concern ourselves with.
