SOSA STAYING WITH CUBS: SCOTTSDALE -- Sammy Sosa has decided to not exercise his option to become a free agent. No real shocker. The only team that might have made a run at him was the New York Yankees and Sosa had no guarantee they would go after him. Overall I am glad Sosa is staying; but it would have been ok with me if Sosa had left for New York and the Cubs signed Vladimir Guerrero to replace Sosa.

KARROS SAYS THANKS: SCOTTSDALE -- Eric Karros placed an ad in the Chicago Tribune thanking the Cubs fans and the Cubs organization for this past season. A really classy move by a classy guy. And to Eric Karros, thank you for the memories you helped to provide Cubs fans in this 2003 season.

MARLINS WIN WORLD SERIES: SCOTTSDALE -- Another lousy prediction by me as the Florida Marlins beat the New York Yankees in the World Series. So for those keeping score, I went 1-3 in the LDS, 1-1 in the LCS, and 0-1 in the World Series for a record of 2-5.
