FRIDAY'S GAME AT CHICAGO WHITE SOX: Matt Clement actually pitched a good game for a change, pitching a shutout through the five innings. Clement gave up homeruns to Frank Thomas in the sixth and Carlos Lee in the seventh. The White Sox scored another run in the eighth to make in 3-1 White Sox. The Cubs offense was MIA most of the day until the ninth when the Cubs came back to tie it at 3-3. You just knew it the Cubs were trouble with Antonio Alfonseca on the mound in the ninth inning and sure enough he gave up a homerun to Jose Valentin and the White Sox won 4-3.
TODD HUNDLEY AWARD: The Todd Hundley Award for poor performance by a Cubs catcher to Paul Bako. Bako went 0 for 4, and left 2 runners on base in scoring position.
